Our Vision

  1. The natural landscape is restored, protected and maintained for present and future generations.
  2. The proposed protected area is managed for the protection of wilderness and ecological resources, landscapes, watersheds, wildlife, natural ecological processes, and the natural and cultural heritage present there.
  3. The proposed buffer zone around the protected area will be a multi use area that will be managed and appropriately monitored to ensure that best management practices are used in both recreation and industrial use to ensure that ecological and economic values are balanced.
  4. The area is managed for outdoor recreation, environmental education and ecotourism.
  5. There is no new surface-disturbance from industry, including no new industrial dispositions
Document Actions
The organizations affiliated with the Alberta Foothills Network use various strategies to achieve the universal intent of protecting and restoring the Alberta Foothills and promoting environmentally sustainable development in this region. However, the organizations operate independently, and are not responsible for the actions and tactics of the other groups in the Network.
