East of Hwy 40 between Grande Cache and Hinton shows the devastating clearcutting to the north, south and east of the Little Smoky forest. Roads, pipelines and some older large clear cuts have fragmented even within critical caribou range. Look closely to the light green with yellow highlighted areas, these are some important and rare wetlands and watersheds.
